The Slim Thug Chronicles Part ONE.

You've been asking for it so here it is. No more e-mails about Slim Thug.

Personally, Im not the interviewing, ask 20 questions on top of 20 questions type but the opportunity came knocking so whats a young man to do.

The problem with this interview wasn't all the attention Slim Thug attracts. The problem was all the jewelry Slim Thug was wearing! We were like gotdamn! He literally had diamonds 'that’ll Bling blind ya'.
Don’t get us wrong, we weren’t mad at all- but the fact was, when ya looked at him, ya got shot in the eyes from lasershow.
Imagine Lasik Surgery times 33.
The ears, 09 karats each.
The necklace, the wrist, and then when we he cracked a smile- Bling- LaserShow!
My writer needed shades just to get through the interview. (Literally)

But on the cool, the main problem was the fact that we have never asked anyone personal questions while having everything that was said being recorded.
Usually the things discussed are confidential in nature and this time was no exception.
But for the sake of journalism and for the sake of curious fans, we won’t hold back anything that was said- good or bad.

The stats on Slim Thug. He’s 24yrs old. He started back when he was 17yrs old in 1998with DJ Micheal Watts of the SwishaHouse.
Slim used to freestyle at a teeny-bopper club called the ALL-Star.
DJ Micheal Watts was the resident Dj.
Watts invited him to start flowing on his mix-tapes and the rest is basically history.
He became an instant success on the Houston scene and progressed across the southern region from there.

MTVHouston: 'Question- What high school did you go to and did you ever play any sports like basketball?'
Slim: 'No sports Gee! Strictly music. Eisenhower, on that NorthSide.'

MTVHouston: 'Well Slim not that I care about the jewelry but damn man it's hard not to notice so let the people know- what are you rocking? You’ve got the mouth, the wrist, the necklace, the ears whats up! How many karats?'
Slim: 'Well I really don’t know but I know it was a whole lotta money! I do know that I got 9 karats in each ear so that’s 18 karats right there but as far as the rest I’m not too sure.'
(Personally, I think Slim Thug didn’t want to draw negative attention to himself so I didn’t push the issue but on the cool I aint mad at him. I wouldn’t want to talk about it either, but it was definitely Liberace-Style.)

MTVHouston: 'How did ya sign with Pharrell?
Slim: 'An industry cat named Goby who works for SRC records and is from New York introduced us to each other at a mixshow in Puerto Rico back in 2002. Then when I (Slim Thug) got signed with Interscope and Pharell moved his label from Arista to Interscope it was basically a done deal.
Pharell asked me to come aboard with him on his Star Trek label which also had recently signed Snoop Dogg.'

MTVHouston: 'How does Slim Thug know if a woman is hollywood or no good?'
Slim: 'U don’t know! Women are real quiet and sneaky like cats. I aint gonna lie I’m bad with trust- you can’t tell just by looking- its gonna take time and experience. That’s gonna be the real judge.'

MTVHouston: Yeh I can tell you've gotten your heart broken a few times! But who hasn't, so live and learn. Who can we trust? only time reveals.

MTVHouston: 'Slim, if you could change 3 things in the world what would it be?'
Slim: ' No STD’s. No haters, and No poor people.'
(After this answer, I was like hell yeah Slim Thug for President, Thats a wonderful world right there. No STD's, No haters, No poor people?! Man that sounds like UTOPIA.)

MTVHouston: 'What does Slim-Thug listen to as far as music?'
Slim: 'Anything hot and new- whatever’s dropping that Tuesday. I’m a fan of hip-hop. I mean I jam slow music sometimes, but not really. I really f#ck with a lot of rap.'

MTVHouston: 'If you’re serious about getting into the game what should you do- should you get a lawyer or what?'
Slim: 'If your serious, sh#t you need to get a lawyer first. I mean you aint just gotta have him on payroll month to month but keep one by your side for advice or whatever..
It’s not just one way to get in the game but the way I did it was mixtapes. Rappin' on other peoples beats.'

As we were doin the interview, one of Slim's homies comes up and tries to wipe his sweat off with Slim's sweat rag by taking it off Slim’s shoulder. Slim quickly puts a halt to it by squirting him square in the face with a 'Bazooka WaterGun'--
The Neighborhood Crowd that had gathered around us, erupted into laughter. 'Yeh that'll teach him a lesson' quips Slim.

All I can say is that almost any day with Slim is interesting and humorous.
But back to the interview..

For those wanting to get in the game Slim says, ‘Rap on mixtapes and other peoples hot beats. If they are already moving to it in the club then flow on it and if you saying some hot sh#t people will feel it and bob their head to it.
But! if you're saying some sh#t and you aint making the people move, but the song in the club is makin people move then this means you've gotta check yo sh#t and step yo game up.
That’s basically how you need to test yo sh#t.’

MTVHouston: 'What about out of everything you learned in life, if you could do some things over what might they be??
Slim: 'Well basically I don’t know Gee. I understand that I’m very blessed in life and you need some mistakes in life so you can grow from them. Slim Thug aint the one to complain. You aint gone never hear me complain cuz I feel like It could always be worse than what it is.
But basically I'm happy with life and everything I’m doin.'

MTVHouston: 'Explain the meaning of the title Already Platinum.'
Slim: 'What I mean is not that I'mma come out and sell a million records, but that the lifestyle is already there. I live like a Platinum Artist you know what I'm saying.'

MTVHouston: 'We know that down in Houston but for those who don’t know that, they will find out & probably join the party'
Slim: 'There it is GEE!. There it is.'

Wow. We're appreciative to be able to do this interview.. It's like we're all watching a Star in the making.
Whenever the newest DVD comes out, make sure to Cop it.
We even have footage of the melee that broke out after Slim's CD Release Party. People shooting, cops macing anything on 2 legs..
Even ya favorite Sport-stars can be seen fleeing all the madness. It's one of the wildest DVD's to ever come out of Houston if you ask me.
