THE SOURCE PRESENTS: A GREAT DAY IN HOUSTON!
IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE--FEBRUARY 15, 2006
The Source Brings Together Hip-Hop Heavyweights for A Great Day in HoustonThere is little doubt that Houston, Texas has become one of the main hubs for Hip-Hop music and culture. Relatively new names like Lil Flip, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Paul Wall and Mike Jones have quickly made an impact in the world of Hip-Hop while veterans like Lil Keke, UGK and Scarface have continued to stay relevant.
Celebrating the cultural and musical contributions of Houston, The Source magazine's 'April:A Great Day In Houston' cover will feature Lil Flip, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, J. Prince, Scarface and UGK. In addition, the special fold out cover and accompanying feature package will showcase a handful of up and coming Houston based artists and the pioneers that helped put the city on the map.
Its in the spirit of unity that The Source is gathering these artists together. Recently, the Bible of Hip-Hop has undergone dramatic changes in the management and focus.
With the firings of former President Ray Benzino and former CEO David Mays we have been able to also drop many of the beefs that the magazine has had with certain labels, executives and artists in the past, says recently named President and CEO of The Source, Jeremy Miller. The Houston cover idea was key to symbolizing this new direction because there had been so many beefs that were keeping the artists of Houston apart. We are using the power that our magazine wields to not just drop the disagreements that weve had but also help others drop their own conflicts.
The photo shoot is scheduled for Monday, February 20th and will be closed to the public. However, very select members of the media will be invited to cover this historical gathering.
All-Star Photos, Coming Soon. Plus another Expose' with Famous Hairstylist 'Terri W!'. Currently he's working on 'Van-Helsing's Curse Part 2'.
Also, A Spanish Version of the Grammy-Award-Winning Song 'Ordinary People' was recently recorded and played for a select listening All-Star audience. We couldn't tell if the revision was performed by Singing Sensation Natalie or Reggaton Artist-Miss Karina Nistal. But whenever it is released, it is sure to be a hit. It sounded Awesome!
